What the tradition asks of a Havan date
A havan takes its date from whatever it closes. Kept inside a griha pravesh, a vivah or a shanti puja, it follows that rite's muhurat; kept on its own for an anniversary, a vow or a new undertaking, it follows the ordinary open-season constraints.
The practical constraint is the place rather than the day. The fire needs an open space — a courtyard, a terrace, a balcony — and a flat's kitchen is not one, which is more often what moves a havan booking than the calendar is.
Where the fire is going matters more than when. A courtyard, a terrace or a ground-floor room settles it; an upper-floor flat usually means moving the rite, and that is a decision better made at booking than on the morning.
