Pujas by occasion (अवसर)
8 moments a family calls a pandit for — and the rituals kept at each.
Occasions are how families actually think about this: not “which puja”, but “we are moving house”. Each page lists the rituals, the order they are usually kept in, and what the family prepares.
Why the site is arranged by occasion
Nobody decides to book a Vastu Shanti. They decide they are moving house, and the rite follows from that — which is why this site carries an occasion for each of the eight moments a family actually calls a pandit for, and lists the rituals under it rather than the other way round.
Each occasion page gives the rites, the order they are usually kept in, what the household prepares and what the timing depends on. Most occasions have more than one rite and some have three; which of them a family keeps is a matter of its own custom, and the pages say which are near-universal and which are regional rather than presenting all of them as required.
Three of the eight — ancestral rites, death rites and the solemn part of the festival calendar — are kept in a quiet register throughout. Those pages offer no packages framed as opportunities, no encouragement and no celebration, because the occasion does not admit any.
