Muhurat dates in May 2027

What the calendar is doing in May
May is Vaishakha into Jyeshtha, in the open season, and it carries a heavy wedding calendar for that reason. The heat is the practical constraint rather than the calendar: night muhurats are common, and daytime rites are pushed to the early morning.
Vat Savitri Purnima or Amavasya, kept in Jyeshtha depending on the region, is an observance rather than a beginning — married women keep a fast and worship the banyan — and it does not open or close anything else in the month.
The heat rather than the calendar shapes a May booking. Night muhurats are common, daytime rites move to the early morning, and a havan kept outdoors in the middle of the day is a practical problem before it is a ritual one.
Jyeshtha's Ganga Dussehra, on the tenth of the waxing moon, is the day the tradition holds the river to have descended, and the river towns on this site keep it with bathing and tarpan.
