About Naulakha Mandir
Naulakha Mandir at Deoghar was built in the 1940s and takes its name from its cost — nine lakh rupees at the time. It is modelled on the Belur Math near Kolkata, which makes it architecturally the odd one out among the temples of the town.
The shrine is to Radha and Krishna, and the temple was built by the Rani of Pathuria Ghat in memory of her teacher. It stands about a kilometre and a half from Baidyanath and is usually visited on the same trip.
The temple stands in open grounds with room to park, which is unusual for Deoghar and makes it the easier of the town's two main shrines to visit with a large family. It is a short auto ride from Baidyanath.
