What decides the cost of a Lakshmi Puja
The puja itself is an hour and a half, and the samagri is modest. What moves the quote is the date: it falls on the Diwali amavasya, every household in the city wants the same evening muhurat, and a pandit can keep two or three bookings in a night rather than a day's worth. Booking early is what changes what is available, not what is charged.
What is different in Bhagalpur
River rites here are kept on the ghats below Budhanath rather than at home, so the travel is to the river and back rather than to an address. Through the monsoon the usable steps change, which alters the approach and occasionally the time, and never the rite.
