What decides the cost of a Lakshmi Puja
The puja itself is an hour and a half, and the samagri is modest. What moves the quote is the date: it falls on the Diwali amavasya, every household in the city wants the same evening muhurat, and a pandit can keep two or three bookings in a night rather than a day's worth. Booking early is what changes what is available, not what is charged.
What is different in Muzaffarpur
The town is dense in the middle and open at the edges, so the distance band is the line that moves. Samagri for the Mithila form of a rite is available locally and is not always the same list as the generic north Indian one, which is worth settling before the package is chosen rather than after.
