What decides the cost of a Mundan
Mundan is short and its puja samagri is minimal, so the quote is mostly the pandit's time and travel. The barber is arranged by the family and is not part of it. Kept at a temple rather than at home it may carry a temple charge, and that is the line that varies most between cities.
What is different in Rajgir
Rajgir is small and its distances are short, but the town's ritual centre is the kunds rather than the houses, so a rite kept there carries the travel and the timing of a site visit. The Malamas fair in the intercalary month is the one period when nothing local can be planned around.
