What decides the cost of a Namkaran
A naming is an hour at home with a short samagri list, which makes it one of the least expensive rites on the site. Where it costs more is where it is combined — a namkaran and an annaprashan kept on the same day are two rites and are quoted as two, even in one sitting.
What is different in Varanasi
The city's temple rites are fitted between fixed aartis, and where a rite is kept at a temple the temple's charge is its own and is shown as a separate line. The lanes mean the last stretch to most addresses is walked, which is a time cost for the pandit rather than a distance one, and it is why the bands here read differently from a city with roads to the door.
