What decides the cost of a Pind Daan
Pind daan is quoted for the circuit rather than the hour. The shortened one-day sequence and the full multi-day one at Gaya are different bookings; the pinda material is inexpensive and the pandit's day is not, because the rite is walked between stations and cannot be fitted around another booking.
What is different in Rajgir
Rajgir is small and its distances are short, but the town's ritual centre is the kunds rather than the houses, so a rite kept there carries the travel and the timing of a site visit. The Malamas fair in the intercalary month is the one period when nothing local can be planned around.
