What decides the cost of a Havan
A havan is priced on its offerings. The samidha, the ghee and the havan samagri are consumed by the fire and are bought by weight for the number of ahutis the sankalp names, so a hundred-and-eight-ahuti havan and a thousand-ahuti one are different quotes for the same two hours.
What is different in Ara
Ara is walkable and travel within the town is short. The rites kept here tend to be the longer, more social ones, and length is what moves the quote — a rite with the singing in it runs past the hour a shorter household puja would take.
